EMBARK was founded on a simple belief: talent exists in every community, but opportunity does not. We saw firsthand how access to mentorship, scholarships, and meaningful connections can change the trajectory of a person's life. That's why we created EMBARK—to help aspiring students and young professionals pursue careers in aviation and STEM by providing the guidance, resources, and support they need to succeed.

Our Team
James Garamendi - President
James Garamendi serves as President of EMBARK and President of MPI Jet. A professional aviator with more than 10,000 flight hours and nearly 30 years of aviation experience, he began his aviation career in 1998. He served in the U.S. Army's Priority Jet Transport Unit before transitioning into corporate aviation. In 2013 he co-founded MPI Jet and became President in 2024. Through EMBARK he is committed to removing barriers to opportunity while inspiring the next generation of aviation and STEM leaders.
Matthew McIntyre – Secretary
Matthew McIntyre serves as Secretary of EMBARK, co-owner of MPI Jet, Assistant Director of Operations at MPI Jet, and owner of Advancetech Aircraft Maintenance. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Management and Technology from Arizona State University and brings extensive operational and maintenance experience.
Rosa Vega – Treasurer
Rosa Vega is a Senior Accountant at MPI Jet with more than 20 years of experience in accounting and financial management. She holds a Master's degree in Accounting and specializes in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and internal controls. Rosa is committed to accuracy, integrity, and providing the financial insights that support sound business decisions.
